AI Tools for Lawyers in Spain 2026: Comparison of 5 Options

The market for AI for lawyers in Spain in 2026
The Spanish legal sector is in the midst of digital transformation. The market is fragmented and confusing: there are tools for contract generation, case management, legal research and operational automation — and they do not all do the same thing.
In this guide we compare 5 AI tools for law firms in Spain in 2026, with use cases and recommendations according to the size and type of firm.
1. XERA — Suited to: Operational automation and communications management
What it is: XERA is the operational AI assistant for Spanish law firms. It is not case-management software — it is the layer that automates everything that does not require legal judgement: client emails, LexNET deadline alerts, document search, answers to frequent queries.
What it is for in a law firm:
- Manages the inbox: prioritises urgent LexNET notifications and groups queries by case file
- Helps to control deadlines from the firm's notifications (e.g. LexNET), with advance warnings to the team (it warns; it is not a substitute for your own deadline control)
- Searches your email, shared drive and CRM for documents, if your tools have an API
- Generates drafts of engagement letters, communications and quotes
Price: €208/month + €1,200 setup fee (or €1,000 paying the annual fee in advance). Team €408/month. Separately, the client takes out the Claude (Anthropic) subscription directly: $100/month (Max 5×) or $200/month (Max 20×), with no margin for Proxera. Anthropic's prices are subject to change. Prices exclude VAT.
Ideal for: Law firms with a high volume of communication with clients and/or many simultaneous case files.
Hosting: Hetzner servers (Finland).

- Searchable contract repository
Price: It depends on the modules; ask the vendor for its current rate.
Ideal for: Law firms with a high volume of standard contracts or companies that need contract management.
Is it an alternative to XERA? No. Bigle generates documents; XERA manages day-to-day operations. They are complementary.
3. Clio — Suited to: Comprehensive case management (medium-to-large firms)

Which tool does your firm in Spain need?
The answer depends on your main problem:
- Too much operational work (email, deadline alerts, documents) → XERA
- Contracts that take too long to generate → Bigle Legal
- You need to manage cases with time tracking and billing → Clio (if you work in English)
- Mass analysis of documents in English → Harvey AI
For most medium-sized Spanish law firms, the combination we would suggest in 2026 is:
- XERA for operational automation and communications
- Bigle Legal if they generate many standard contracts
- Their current case-management software (if it works)
AI for law firms: where to start
For a law firm, the useful question is not which AI tool is best in the abstract, but which work you want to take off your hands first. There are two families that are best not mixed: AI that researches and drafts (such as Harvey AI) and operational AI, which helps with email, deadline alerts and documents (such as XERA).
- Find the repetitive task that takes the most time. It is usually client email, the follow-up of notifications such as LexNET or document search. That can be automated without touching legal judgement.
- Decide whether your problem is operational or one of content. If you are slow to reply and to locate documents, it is operational. If you are slow to draft or review contracts, it is one of content, and a document tool such as Bigle Legal fits there.
- Start with a single flow and check it with the team. Expand when it works. Judgement on the case remains with whoever handles it.
- Check that the tool works with Spanish law and with your notifications. Check the LexNET support of Clio and LEAP with their vendors.
If your starting point is case files, you have the detail in case file follow-up with AI for law firms (ES), and in XERA for law firms what we do ourselves.
How much does Harvey AI cost in Spain?
Harvey does not publish prices. Its website has no pricing page and leads to "Request a Demo" and to talking to sales (consulted on 30 September 2026), which is why the table shows it as "Enterprise, prices on request". There are third-party articles that quote per-user figures, but they are not Harvey's data and we do not include them here. If you want a price, you have to ask Harvey.
